Playground, a recently released Hulu reality series, sees Megan Thee Stallion not only serving as an executive producer but also popping up on camera.

For those unaware, the series premiered back in July and focuses on Robin Antin and Kenny Wormald’s Los Angeles-based dance studio of the same name. For many in the cast, Playground marks their TV debut, including dancer/choreographer/actor Dexter Carr.

"Dancers are always told to stay quiet, be in the background, and make the artist look good," Carr tells Complex of what he sees as the importance of the series, which gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to truly break out in the world of dance. "Hulu gave us a shot at being in the forefront and telling our story, the real one. There’s no better feeling than being celebrated for being yourself."

For artist/choreographer/actress Zonta, the nine-episode series drives home a broader message about the importance of staying mindful when it comes to who you allow into your orbit.

"If you have to dim your light to make people feel comfortable around you, that’s not the circle you need to be in," Zonta tells Complex. "My light comes from my spirit not what I wear nor my hair. There’s enough stars in the sky that can shine bright at the same time and Playground on Hulu shows you just that!"
