People are still making jokes about Will Smith's Oscars slap years later, including his doppelgänger (only in name), Slow Horses creator, Will Smith.

On Sunday, Smith won an Emmy for writing the Apple TV+ show, and during his acceptance speech, nodded to Will Smith, the actor. "First of all, relax. Despite my name, I come in peace,” Smith said, eliciting a laugh from the audience.

In addition to writing the show, Smith also created Slow Horses and serves as an executive producer.

Will Smith, the actor, infamously slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars in 2022 after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair. In the time since, he became something of a pariah—that is, until his latest film, Bad Boys: Ride or Die became a major hit at the box office this summer.

We’ve also found out more about his marriage with Jada. Last October, Pinkett Smith revealed that they had been living separately for seven years, long before the Oscars incident.

“Why it fractured, that’s a lot of things,” Pinkett told Hoda Kotd on the Today Show. “I think by the time we got to 2016 we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both kind of still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”
