Actor Michael Madsen, best known for his various collaborations with Quentin Tarantino, has filed for divorce from his wife DeAnna Madsen, and made some very serious allegations in the filing.

TMZ reports that Michael, 65, filed for divorce on Wednesday, Sept. 18, and the filing reveals they separated in January 2022. He cited irreconcilable differences but also shared a statement with the filing that accuses DeAnna of abusive behavior. He said that he separated from his estranged wife because he believed "her neglect, drinking, and alcoholism" potentially led to Hudson's death by suicide at age 26 in January 2022, the same month they separated.

The couple married in 1996 during a short break from the production of the 1997 film Donnie Brasco, in which Madsen co-starred with Al Pacino and Johnny Depp. He noted that her alleged behavior also impacted his own mental well-being and eventually their marriage turned into an "abusive, co-dependent, and toxic relationship."

Last month, Madsen was arrested for a domestic battery misdemeanor at his Los Angeles-area residence. TMZ later reported that the Los Angeles District Attorney confirmed that the case has since been dropped due to insufficient evidence. "We are thrilled that Michael Madsen is able to put this behind him and look forward to our continued collaboration with more great things coming from this veteran and respected actor," a representative said at the time.

He directly refers to the arrest in the filing and claimed that it was a result of the toxic nature of their relationship. Police reported that Michael pushed his estranged wife during an argument at their home. Michael is seeking a domestic restraining order against his wife as part of the divorce petition.
