While it may often feel as though the pursuit of freak-matching is a lifelong and perhaps futile effort, thus facilitating existential malaise of the highest order, Tinashe has partnered with SoundCloud to offer a form of hope as part of her upcoming tour.

Tuesday, a contest billed as the “first of its kind” was announced, allowing DJs to vie for the chance to open for the Kentucky-born “Nasty” artist on the aptly named Match My Freak World Tour. In a statement, Emmy Lovell, SoundCloud’s Global Head of Music, pointed to the singer’s longtime affinity for the platform as integral to this unique collaborative effort.

“Tinashe has always embraced SoundCloud to connect with fans and experiment with new sounds, and this first-of-its-kind contest is a natural extension of that energy,” Lovell said in a statement to Complex. “We're excited to build on Tinashe's legacy by shining a spotlight on the next generation of artists on SoundCloud.”

Tinashe’s Live Nation-produced North American tour begins Oct. 14 in Anaheim, California. She’s also hitting Nashville, Atlanta, and more.

‌”I'm excited to partner up with Soundcloud to find incredible DJs to open for me on my Match My Freak tour,” Tinashe told Complex on Tuesday. “If you make dope music, then you should submit for a chance to join me on the road. I'm selecting a different DJ each night so make sure to tap in and submit your music. I can't wait to check out all the submissions and more importantly I can't wait to see you all on the road soon!”

Best of luck to all, and may your proverbial freak soon be matched.
