In the wake of Diddy’s arrest in New York at the hands of federal agents, additional details are continuing to emerge on not only the case itself but the alleged circumstances surrounding prosecutors’ argument that he should not be released until trial.

During an initial court hearing on Tuesday, per a report from NBC News, it was alleged that what was described as “bags of pink powder” were discovered in Diddy’s hotel room on Monday, the same day he was arrested. For now, at least, the powder has not yet been tested, though such tests are expected to warrant results down the line. Prosecutors have alleged that they believe the powder in question is narcotic in nature, pointing to a prior seizure earlier this year that resulted in a substance they say was confirmed to contain ecstasy.

Inner City Press’ Matthew Russell Lee, meanwhile, was also on hand for Tuesday’s hearing, reporting that Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson argued that Diddy was a flight risk.

As expected, Diddy has appealed his denial of bail. A hearing on the matter is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

In March, documents related to Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ lawsuit against Diddy made mention of alleged transportation of so-called “pink cocaine,” a.k.a. “tuci" or "tusi." Drugs, more generally, also received notable mentions in Tuesday’s unsealed indictment in New York, namely in connection with what prosecutors have called “Freak Offs.”

As previously reported, for example, these “Freak Offs” are alleged to have included the distribution of “a variety of controlled substances” that prosecutors claim were part of a larger attempt at ensuring alleged victims remained “obedient and compliant.” Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has taken issue with this assessment, arguing instead that such encounters were consensual. In a previous statement, he referred to his client as “an innocent man with nothing to hide.”

The indictment in question sees Diddy charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The racketeering charge alone, per prosecutors, carries with it the possibility of a maximum sentence of life behind bars if convicted as charged.
