Justin Timberlake Gives PSA About Drunk Driving as Part of Plea Deal for DWI Case
The singer was charged with a DWI after cops pulled him over for driving erratically.
Justin Timberlake had to make a public service announcement as part of the sentencing in his DWI case.
“Even if you’ve had one drink, don’t get behind the wheel of a car,” the singer said on Friday. “There’s so many alternatives. Call a friend, take an Uber—there’s many travel apps. Still, take a taxi.”

“This is a mistake that I made, but I’m hoping that whoever’s watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake,” he added. “I know that I certainly have. And like I said, even one drink. Don’t get behind the wheel of a car.”
On Friday, Timberlake took a plea deal and accepted Driving While Impaired, a lesser, non-criminal offense, rather than copping to a DWI. According to the Associated Press, in addition to making the PSA, JT also has to pay a $500 fine with a $260 surcharge and perform 25 hours of community service at a non-profit.

In June, Timberlake was pulled over by Sag Harbor police in the Hamptons for running through a stop sign, veering out of his lane, and smelling like alcohol. The incident ended in his arrest and his license was later suspended.
JT pleaded not guilty to the DWI charge and his lawyer has insisted that the 42-year-old “was not intoxicated.”
