Baka Not Nice Responds to Kendrick Lamar's New Track, Calls It 'Trash'
The Canadian rapper and Drake associate is not impressed with K Dot's surprise new drop.
Baka Not Nice, the Drake associate who was called out directly on "Not Like Us," is not impressed with Kendrick Lamar's surprise new track.
On Wednesday, Sept. 11, K Dot dropped a new song right as the 2024 MTV VMAs kicked off. It has arrived amid all the discourse surrounding the announcement he will play the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, something Drake himself even chimed in on. In a comment on a post about the new track, Baka Not Nice chimed in with his thoughts.
"Shit sound like how them shoes look lil n***a 🗑️," he wrote on a TikTok post from Akademiks, a noted Drake defender and one of the targets of Kendrick's several diss tracks aimed at the Toronto superstar.

He also cropped up on a post from the Instagram page Toronto Rappers, simply dropping an emoji to suggest he thinks the song is "trash."

Besides being a close friend and associate of Drake, Baka Not Nice has a vested interest in Kendrick Lamar's latest because his unsavory past was highlighted on the Hot 100 No. 1 diss track "Not Like Us."
On the track, K Dot took aim at Drake and the rest of the OVO Sound roster, including Baka. "They tell me Chubbs the only one that get your hand-me-downs / And Party at the party playin' with his nose now / And Baka got a weird case, why is he around?" he raps on "Not Like Us."

What Is Baka Not Nice's 'Weird Case' Kendrick Lamar References on Drake Diss "Not Like Us"
Before signing to OVO Sound in 2017, Baka Not Nice served as Drake's bodyguard and made several contributions to the Toronto rapper's albums. In 2014, he was arrested for allegedly forcing a 22-year-old woman into prostitution.
He pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman and failing to comply with conditions for unrelated firearm charges. The prostitution and human trafficking charges were later dropped because the woman involved refused to testify. He served six months in prison after taking his guilty plea.
