Travis Scott’s style has become as popular as his music. From archival Yohji Yamamoto pieces to his own collab with Dior, here are the best Travis Scott outfits.

Thanks to his infectious energy and cosigns from Kanye West and T.I., Travis Scott had a name for himself when he released his debut mixtape Owl Pharaoh back in 2013. While some were quicker to jump on the bandwagon than others, Travis Scott seemed to consistently win more people over from project to project as he fine-tuned his sound.

A decade later, his stock has skyrocketed. Astroworld was one of the biggest albums of 2018 and Travis notched his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the Drake-assisted banger “Sicko Mode.” With 2023’s release of his fourth album Utopia, it seems like he is on a path to adding even more accolades to his resume. But he hasn’t just risen in the music world; the 32-year-old is also seen as one of the most influential figures in fashion today, with his various sneaker collaborations selling out within seconds of being released, and his merch flipping for a pretty penny on the secondary market.

Travis’ personal style has been a big part of his image throughout his career. He’s done official collaborations with Helmut Lang, Dior, and even McDonald’s. Unofficially, the Houston native can also be credited with helping reinvigorate interest in everything from vintage T-shirts to Nike SB Dunks.

While the style of many artists changes with the times to stay trendy, Scott remains authentic. Valuable Supreme pieces and Air Jordan retros from the early 2000s have dominated his wardrobe since he arrived on the scene six years ago, and he effortlessly mixes these streetwear staples with popular luxury designers like Rick Owens and Raf Simons. He also frequently rocks his own merch, which is probably why the hoodies and T-shirts have become so coveted to his devoted fanbase.

Many people are quick to reference names like ASAP Rocky and the aforementioned West when discussing the most stylish rappers around, but Scott’s massive influence proves his name is more than worthy of being placed alongside them as well. Need proof that the MoCity representative has rocked his fair share of fire fits? Here are some of his best looks to celebrate the release of Utopia.

'K-Pop' Video

View post on Instagram

When: 2023

Is nu metal making a comeback? Probably not. But the nostalgia for bands like Limp Bizkit and Korn feels especially prevalent these days. Typically, we are used to seeing people wear vintage band T-shirts for popular metal bands from the ‘80s and ‘90s like Metallica or Pantera. Travis Scott has worn his fair share over the years. But in his recent video for his single “K-Pop,” he opted for something a bit more recent. He paired a sleeveless Limp Bizkit shirt with distressed cargo shorts, Bottega Veneta shades, and a pair of what is rumored to be his own Nike silhouette, the Cut the Check. All he was missing was Fred Durst’s signature backwards red fitted cap. Will vintage nu metal T-shirts boom in the aftermarket due to the co-sign? We’ll have to wait and see. We’re just thankful he didn’t opt for some JNCO jeans.

When: 2023

Ahead of his sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena in August 2022, Travis Scott decided to show off some archival pieces from Yohji Yamamoto. Posed with his face turned away from the camera so you can really admire the fit, the rapper showed off a “Go Yohji Go” leather jacket from the Japanese designer’s Fall/Winter 1991 collection and denim moto pants from Yamamoto’s Fall/Winter 2004 collaboration with Italian motorsports brand Dainese. He finished off the ensemble with a vintage Pearl Jam T-shirt and recently-retroed Nike Mac Attacks. Some people knock Travis’ style, but he definitely pulls out some crazy pieces from time to time. A rare jacket that’s over 30 years old with sale listings over $10,000 fits the bill.

When: 2023

Following his set at Rolling Loud Miami, Travis Scott pulled up to one of the best night clubs in Miami, E11EVEN, for the festival’s after party. On stage, he was seen wearing a shirt with “Utopia” branding resembling hieroglyphics above a small Givenchy logo. He paired it with a matching mesh zip-up, white cargo shorts, and a belt from his Dior collab. Some speculated that the top was part of an upcoming Givenchy x Travis Scott collection, especially after creative director Matthew M. Williams made a cameo in the “K-Pop” video. However, that’s not the case. A Givenchy representative confirmed to Complex that the piece was a custom look designed for Travis Scott and that there is not an official collaboration. While a collab currently doesn’t appear to be headed to stores any time soon, we certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see some MMW x Travis Scott gear release in some capacity to promote Utopia.

When: 2021

Throughout his career, Travis Scott has built a reputation for himself as a must-see live performer. His set at Rolling Loud Miami 2021 was no different. There were flames shooting from the stage, a cameo from the Migos, a preview of still yet-to-be-released music, and even a floating stage that he performed some songs on top of. For the headlining set, he also made sure his fit was on point. Travis Scott popped out on stage wearing a look off of the Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring 2022 runway that had debuted just a month prior. The look from what would be Virgil Abloh’s final runway collection for LV featured a green and yellow gradient leather jacket and baggy, distressed jeans covered in LV monogram print. Travis Scott added some subtle tweaks of his own to the runway look including an LV x NBA leather pouch, a T-shirt from his batch of Rolling Loud Miami 2021 merch, and the super exclusive “Manila” Air Jordan 4s. He quickly discarded the jacket as his performance ramped up (we don’t blame him. He was performing in Miami in the summer surrounded by flames), but we have to acknowledge the outfit in its entirety. Not many people are pulling up to Rolling Loud in looks straight off the runway.

Astroworld: Wish You Were Here Tour (MSG)

When: 2018

Travis Scott is known for his energetic, riotous live shows, and the incredible success of his third studio album Astroworld brought the momentous experience to even bigger arenas, including New York’s Madison Square Garden. Of course, Scott had to mark the occasion with some special tour merch for his fans at MSG. He even took the stage wearing the design, a play on the classic “I Love NY” T-shirts, updated with a skeleton, cactus, and some flames. He paired the black long sleeve with some Readymade cargo pants and his coveted Air Jordan I collab.

When: 2019

For one of the biggest performances of his career, on a mainstream level at least, Trav made sure his gear would grab viewers’ attention. While many were still catching their breath from an unexpected Spongebob cameo to introduce his massive hit “Sicko Mode,” La Flame stepped on stage for the Super Bowl LIII halftime show in an Alyx x Nike long sleeve shirt, Alyx leather trousers, and an oversized Louis Vuitton belt design by Virgil Abloh. Of course, he was also sporting some of his own creations: a brown Astroworld merch cap and his yet-to-be-released Air Jordan VI collaboration.

When: 2018

Last August, Travis graced the 35th annual MTV Video Music Awards with his presence. He’s seen above in the same fit he rocked during the performance. No, that hoodie wasn’t ever sold—it’s an exclusive. The bright yellow vintage Nike number is customized with a graphic that also donned a tie-dye Astroworld T-shirt. La Flame completes the fit with Left Hand bedazzled dragon jeans, a camouflage Von Dutch trucker hat, and “Papa Bear” Nike SB Dunk Highs, one of the most popular releases from SB’s heyday in the late 2000s.

Met Gala 2018

When: 2018

Scott might be known for his extensive collection of rare streetwear and vintage gear, but the H-Town rapper cleans up just as nicely in formal wear. Case in point, his look for 2018 Met Gala; Scott showed up in a simple black suit designed by Alexander Wang. The highlight was the leather harness, complete with a convenient lighter holder across the chest and subtle silver detailing that had him resembling a 20th century military commander.

When: 2018

If there’s anything that Trav makes known, it’s his love for Houston. So it’s no surprise that he’s become a courtside fixture at Rockets home games in the past couple of years. One of his cleanest courtside ensembles saw him alongside another local hero, Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, layering a black Supreme box logo T-shirt with a matching Gosha Rubchinskiy flannel. He completed the look with leather pants from Saint Laurent, a pair of 1985 “Chicago” Air Jordans Is, and plenty of ice shining around his neck.

When: 2017

Did I mention that Travis Scott loves the Houston Rockets? Here he can be seen absolutely losing his mind courtside at a game in 2017—we can only assume he was reacting to a clutch bucket from James Harden. The fit is worth getting hype over, too; he paired a white and yellow Fucking Awesome T-shirt with a grey and yellow Stone Island jacket, black leather Balmain moto pants, and a flaming cactus cap from his merch line as an opening act on The Weeknd’s “The Madness” tour. Sneakerheads will appreciate his footwear choice, a pair of rare “Lightning” Air Jordan IVs from 2006.

When: 2017

Many people know Travis for his footwear collaborations with Nike and Jordan Brand, but before that, the 32-year-old got to design his own capsule collection for legendary New York fashion label Helmut Lang. Here he can be seen checking out his collab’s display at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills, decked out in a cozy Patagonia fleece pullover, denim from the aforementioned project, and an original pair of the mismatched “Taiwan” Nike Air Force 1 Low from 2001.

When: 2017

The Supreme x Louis Vuitton collaboration is one of the most monumental fashion partnerships in recent memory—maybe even of all time, depending on who you ask. One of the first people spotted in the extremely hyped-up collab was the man himself. Travis showed up to LV’s runway show at Paris Fashion Week in January 2017, where the collection officially debuted, in a box logo T-shirt, bandana, and sunglasses from the line. He completed the statement-making look with Champion x Vetements sweatpants, Louis Vuitton sandals, and a black shearling bomber jacket.

ComplexCon

When: 2016

Many credit Kanye West for the renewed interest in vintage American Thunder T-shirts that began a couple of years ago, but Travis Scott also wore the lightning bolt-covered designs. Here he can be seen rocking the stage at the first annual ComplexCon in Long Beach, California, in an American Thunder T-shirt emblazoned with a large bald eagle and camouflage pants from his collaboration with Maharishi. Scott, who isn’t shy about wearing things more than once, completed the outfit with bright yellow “Lightning” Air Jordan 4s, which make two appearances on this list. No complaints over here.

BET Hip Hop Awards (2016)

When: 2016

ASAP Rocky might be the most well-known Raf Simons fanatic in the rap world, but Scott has respect for the Belgian designer as well. He performed “Pick Up the Phone” at the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards rocking some archive Raf: the Consumed hoodie from his Spring/Summer 2003 collection to be exact. The Astroworld rapper paired the rare piece with a red Moncler bubble coat and some custom jewels on his neck and wrist.

When: 2015

If there were two things you could anticipate seeing on Travis Scott early in his career, they were Supreme and throwback Air Jordans. For the 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards, La Flame checked both boxes by rocking one of the most collectible Supreme pieces ever released—the Kermit photo T-shirt—and a pair of “Classic Green” Air Jordan IVs from 2004. An orange and yellow Gosha Rubchinskiy flannel and black leather Balmain pants completed his drip.

FVDED in the Park

When: 2016

Travis showed some love to Juicy J during his FVDED In The Park set in 2016 by orchestrating mosh pits while rocking the Liquid Blue green skull pile T-shirt famously worn by the Three 6 Mafia member in the “Stay Fly” music video. Scott completed this particular fit with some distressed Ksubi denim and yet another rare Air Jordan IV. This time he laced up the “Black Laser” colorway from 2004. Given his obvious love for the silhouette, it’s no wonder he would eventually release his own Air Jordan IV collab in 2018.

Met Gala 2019

When: 2019

Scott hit the 2019 Met Gala alongside girlfriend Kylie Jenner in another military-inspired fit. Similar to his look from 2018, this time he opted for a brown Dior suit, black leather harness, and long black leather gloves. Traditional patent leather shoes completed the dapper ensemble. Too bad Stormi Webster couldn’t make an appearance alongside her parents on the pink carpet for a family photo op.

Something in the Water

When: 2019

Travis Scott likes to pay homage to his predecessors, so it shouldn’t come as a shock that he performed at Pharrell’s first annual Something in the Water festival in Virginia Beach, Virginia in April 2019 in a vintage BBCICECREAM T-shirt. Staying true to the era, he also rocked some Evisu denim and maintained his current obsession with rare Nike SB Dunks by lacing up the “White Cement” Supreme collab from 2002.

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert

When: 2016

Even when he’s keeping it cozy, La Flame makes a statement. On this night, he paired a brown camo Supreme box logo hoodie with some classic checkerboard Vans Slip-Ons, and a beanie and sweatpants from his “Hood Toyota” pop-up merch line. This was the artist’s fit of choice for his Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight medley on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert back in 2016.

Dior Men's Fall 2020 Runway Show

When: 2019

When Kim Jones dropped the super hyped Dior x Air Jordan 1s in the summer of 2020, he tapped Travis Scott to be the star of the brand’s official campaign. So naturally, Travis Scott received a pair of these way back in December of 2019 to wear to Kim Jones’ Dior Menswear’s Fall 2020 runway show. Jones’ collection was centered on a historic collaboration with Shawn Stüssy, which Scott is wearing in this great fit. Of course, Travis Scott subtly promoted his clothing store in Houston, Space Village, by wearing a hat branded with the store’s iconic atom logo.

When: 2020

Most people have had McDonald’s at least once in their lives. But not many have eaten their Big Mac while leaning on a red Ferrari parked in front of a McDonald’s. But to mark the launch of his signature Mickey D’s meal back in September 2020, that’s exactly what Travis did. He paid a visit to the fast food chain’s oldest operating location in Downey, California and he made sure to dress accordingly for the occasion wearing a graphic T-shirt from his special merch capsule in his now-signature shade of brown, denim shorts that were also from the collection, and a pair of “Iowa” Nike Dunks from 1999 for good measure. We don’t necessarily recommend anyone add jean shorts to their wardrobe in 2021, but Travis somehow pulls it off here. Let’s leave that style choice to him.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Houston Rockets (2020)

When: 2020

Kapital’s colorful patchwork denim has become a staple in NBA pregame tunnels this season, but Travis was a bit ahead of the curve when he decided to rock a pair of the the Japanese brand’s tie-dye patchwork pants courtside at the Toyota Center to watch his hometown Houston Rockets play back in 2020. He paired the loud pants with a attention-grabbing Wizard of Oz airbrushed vintage T-shirt, a Space Village cap, and a tweaked pair of his Nike SB Dunk Low collab that did not feature the navy blue paisley panels that are on the original style. The Rockets would end up losing a close game to the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 124-115 that night, but at least fans in attendance got to go home with the collectible Travis Scott bobblehead that was given away that night as a memento.

Playstation 5 Truck

When: 2020

Last Fall, one of the craziest sponsorship opportunities that Travis Scott took part in was promoting the release of the Playstation 5. Along with a wild commercial of Travis Scott literally being blown away by the PS5, which was inspired by an old Maxell commercial, Scott dropped a 10-minute cinematic “unboxing” experience along with Cactus Jack x Playstation merch. Here, La Flame is wearing a pair of Playstation Nike dunks, one of the rarest pieces that came off of his Playstation deal since only five pairs were publicly released. Along with that, he’s wearing a Space Village hat, an Étoile Plaid Jacket from Isabel Marant, and a rare pair of Takashi Murakami x Fragment Design x Levi’s denim. The Playstation truck that Scott is standing in was prominently featured in the 10-minute PS5 unboxing video, which Scott came out of to surprise two lucky fans with their own PS5 consoles.

Snow Day

When: 2021

Travis Scott shows how to dress when it gets real snowy outside. Here he is wearing Prada Linea Rossa sunglasses to protect his eyes from the sun and snow. A brown layered Maison Margiela hoodie keeps La Flame warm and stylish in frigid temperatures. He finishes off this fit with some navy fleece Brain Dead “Multi Runner” pants and a pair of Lanvin sneakers.

When: 2021

Seeing Travis Scott dressed in something he had a hand in designing is not surprising. Chances are, you would see him wearing at least one sneaker collaboration or piece of Cactus Jack merch with his name on it if you ran into him on the street. His archive of projects is that deep. One of the most impressive collaborations to date was the Dior x Cactus Jack collection that debuted on the runway in June 2021. Shortly after, Travis Scott was spotted exiting a New York City hotel in an oversized polo from the collab with Kim Jones’ Dior covered in a special take on the fashion house’s Oblique pattern. What did he pair it with? More of his own creations, of course. He was wearing a hat from his clothing boutique in Houston, Space Village, Takashi Murakami-inspired “Melted Utopia Dream” chain by Eliantte & Co., and unreleased “Reverse Mocha” Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1s. Don’t forget about his Murakami x Louis Vuitton trunk that can be seen in the background. No, he wasn’t involved in making that one. But the coveted 2000s collaboration couldn’t go unmentioned.

When: 2022

While we don’t necessarily recommend purchasing an olive green suit or wearing Nike SB Dunks to your next wedding, Travis Scott was able to pull it off at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. The suit was from the Givenchy Fall 2022 collection designed by Matthew M. Williams. Adding to its casual nature, the trousers featured cargo pockets. He paired the suit with a pair a “Green Hemp” Nike SB Dunk Lows from 2004. Keeping with the casual approach to formal attire, he subbed in a clean white T-shirt for the traditional button-down shirt.
