The CFDA has also renamed the Board of Directors Award to the Isabel Toledo Board of Directors’ Tribute, which aims to honor the Cuban-American designer who died in 2019. Toledo will posthumously receive the award, which is given to prominent figures who reflect the board’s values. Past recipients include former First Lady Michelle Obama, Tom Ford, and the late Virgil Abloh.

As for the 2024 honorees, Daniel Roseberry will be recognized as the International Designer of the Year for his work with Schiaparelli. “This year’s nominees and honorees represent the gamut of American fashion creativity and excellence,” Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA said. “As our biggest fundraiser of the year, the CFDA Fashion Awards presented by Amazon Fashion, significantly contribute to the CFDA Scholarship Fund to support tomorrow’s generation of designers and future nominees and honorees of this special night and we are grateful to Amazon Fashion for their leadership.”
