Fashion designers trying to publicize their clothes is big business. Just ask the fashion bloggers getting paid $100,000 to Instagram a certain piece of clothing. Celebrities are also getting in on the action and making up to $250,000 by a designer to wear their pieces on the red carpet, Fashionista reports

Jessica Paster, who dresses celebrities like Emily Blunt, opened up about the dealings and called them "ambassadorships" while speaking on a panel of Hollywood stylists at Vulture Festival over the weekend. Paster said that celebrities will get paid anywhere in the range of $100,000 to $250,000 to wear a particular design, and even added that stylists get a cut as well, somewhere between $30,000 to $50,000. "If it looks awful on you, $100,000 or $250,000 is not worth it, but if it looks gorgeous and this is the dress you were going to pick anyway, why not get paid?" Paster said, according to Fashionista.

The incentive to wear a paying designer's pieces goes beyond even these payments, though. The stylists on the panel explained that often times celebrities can be picked to star in a luxury brand's campaign based on these relationships. "If you build out their looks in the right way, those campaigns will readily come to them," said Brad Goreski, the former Fashion Police personality who styles Jesssica Alba and Rashida Jones among others.

Celebrities getting paid to attract attention to brands is nothing new. Superstars, like Beyoncé and Rihanna, can receive around $100,000 just for showing up at a fashion show
