Chinese badminton player Huang Yaqiong received more than a gold medal at the Olympics when her boyfriend, and teammate, proposed to her right after her big moment.

Cameras captured her partner, Team China player Liu Yuchen, popping the question in the middle of her medal ceremony. Caught off guard, Yaqiong, of course, said yes and they sealed the moment with a hug and kiss. Now, that’s a way to remember receiving a gold medal.

Yaqiong and Yuchen aren’t the only athletes who got engaged during this year’s Olympics. Argentinian handball player Pablo Simonet asked his partner Maria Campoy, a field hockey player, for her hand in marriage in July.

Another heartwarming Olympic moment came when Flavor Flav offered to pay an Olympian’s rent after she took to X to explain that she was having problems being able to pay it. On Thursday (Aug 1), Veronica Fraley, a Vanderbilt graduate student and track and field athlete, posted about her problem.

“I compete in the Olympic Games TOMORROW and can’t even pay my rent,” she wrote. “My school only sent about 75 percent of my rent while they pay foot players (who haven’t won anything) enough to buy new cars and houses.”

Flav caught wind of the tweet and responded with his offer. “I’ll send payment TODAY so you don’t have to worry about it TOMORROW, and imma be rooting for ya tomorrow LETS GO,!!!” he wrote. Entrepreneur Alex Ohanian joined in and also sent $7,760.

In other Olympic news, Snoop Dogg crowned himself the MVP of the Olympics earlier this week (July 31) due to how much he’s done at the ceremony this year.

In a televised conversation with Mike Tirico of NBC, Snoop elaborated on his experience at the Olympics over the last month.

“Man, this is a grind out here,” said Snoop. Mike I may be the MVP of the Olympics, I’m just saying.”

The only thing that would cement Snoop as MVP is receiving a medal because he’s practically been the face of the Olympics. Ahead of the opening ceremony, Snoop walked the Olympic torch throughout the streets of Paris and even stopped to dance to his 1993 single, “Who Am I (What’s My Name?).”
