A Team USA rugby player has become an advocate for free healthcare in America after experiencing it at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In a video shared on her TikTok, Team USA bronze medalist Ariana Ramsey revealed that she got a free pap smear and booked an eye exam and a dentist appointment. She apparently knew about the free food for athletes at the Olympic Village, but she wasn’t aware of the free healthcare until experiencing it.

In one of her videos posted at a dentist office, Ramsey declares that she’s going to make free healthcare for Americans her goal.

In another video, Ramey expressed her frustration with the current American healthcare system.

“Anyways, America needs to do better with their healthcare system,” she said. “There’s no reason why me, an American girl, should be so amazed by free healthcare.”

Ramsey’s bio on TikTok now describes her as a “Universal Free Healthcare Advocate.”

In other Olympics-related news, Team USA basketball now has five straight Olympic gold medals after beating France 98-87 on Aug. 10. The hard-fought victory was in large part due to a dazzling performance from Stephen Curry who hit four clutch 3 pointers in the fourth quarter.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Curry described his thought process while he was torching the defense.

"Before every shot you take, you think it's going in," Curry said. "All I saw was the rim. I didn't see who was in front of me. I knew it was kind of a late clock situation, but that one impressed myself."

Team USA coach Steve Kerr also spoke about Curry’s wild shooting and the team’s general effectiveness on the court.

"I've seen that from Steph a few times but it never gets old," said Kerr. "It's a global game with a lot of great players, but we still feel we have the greatest players."
