Adrian Wojnarowski has announced he'll be leaving his position as a senior NBA insider at ESPN to become the general manager of the men's basketball program at his alma mater, St. Bonaventure.

On Wednesday, Woj hopped on his social media pages with a post announcing the next chapter of his storied career. In his post, the iconic sports reporter reflected on his time in the news industry and getting the opportunity to work with ESPN.

"This craft transformed my life, but I've decided to retire from ESPN and the news industry," Woj said in part of his statement. "I understand the commitment required in my role and it's an investment that I'm no longer driven to make. Time isn't in endless supply and I want to spend mine in ways that are more personally meaningful."

He continued in another message to ESPN, "It is a thrill of a lifetime to be able to return to a university and community that I love in a role of service to our student-athletes, coaches, and institution. I am hopeful that I can bring value in a lot of areas to our basketball program and open doors for our young men's futures in ways both professionally and personally."

Woj has worked at ESPN since 2017 where he became the go-to reporter on everything happening in the NBA. Prior to that job, Woj worked with Yahoo Sports and The Record of Bergen County in New Jersey. He graduated from St. Bonaventure in 1991 as an alumnus of the Jandoli School of Communication.

After Woj's exit from the news industry, his rival Shams Charania is now the go-to NBA insider in the market. According to an article published by the Washington Post, Woj and Shams' rivalry is considered by many to be the only "real" one in the business.
