Angel Reese has always been the topic of conversation, now she's going to be driving the conversation herself with her new weekly podcast Unapologetically Angel.

"It’s another way for me to connect with my fans and reach new audiences I wouldn’t necessarily have before," Angel told Complex exclusively about her decision to jump into the podcasting world. "I can’t wait to share a different side with listeners and have them come on this ride with me."

Angel is keeping it close to the LSU Tiger fam with her new show, joining Shaquille O’Neal’s “The Big Podcast Network”, a part of Playmaker HQ.

"I mainly want this podcast to be a place for authentic and unfiltered conversations," the WNBA's leading rebounder revealed. "Whether I’m sharing insights on basketball, the current trends in fashion, or the latest news in entertainment."

The pod is the latest in Playmaker's loaded network, joining The Roommates Show with Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart and The OGs with Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller.

Angel will be joined by her co-host, Maya Reese (no relation) and she's aiming big when it comes to potential guests. "I really want to have guests across all different industries on the show– sports, music, entertainment, business, creators, and more," the historic rookie said. "But you know I’m definitely going to have to get my girls Meg (thee Stallion), Latto and Cardi B on here."

Even with a new side hustle added to her resume, Angel is keeping the main thing the main thing when it comes to her day job. She recently became the first WNBA player ever to grab 20 rebounds in three consecutive games, and while she's right in the thick of the Rookie of the Year race with Caitlin Clark, she made it clear where her focus is at.

"I’m not focused on my individual accolades," Angel plainly stated. "I’m focused on our team and what we need to do collectively to win."

With 11 games to go the Chicago Sky sit in the 8th spot in the league, good enough for the final playoff spot this year. But there is ground to be made up if they want to climb in the standings and they can't rest on their laurels with the Atlanta Dream right on their heels as well.

With an already historic season, Angel is doing her part, looking rejuvenated after the league's month-long break for the Olympics. Thanks to another Elite 8 run at LSU, Angel had less than a month between her final college game and the start of her first WNBA training camp. Without any offseason to speak of the Olympic break was huge for the 22-year-old.

"It has always been important for me to prioritize my mental health and protect my peace so it was amazing to get some time away to reset," Angel said about the break. "Going to Paris and getting to support Team USA was also an incredible experience! The atmosphere and the whole city were electric."

Now, in the stretch run of the season and with a new venture under her belt Angel is thinking big.

I like to look at the big picture and think long term about my business," Angel said. "My main focus right now is my team and doing everything I can to help us win on the court. Off the court, I have a lot of long-term career aspirations, and one of them includes broadcasting! So I like to think of Unapologetically Angel as the perfect platform where I can share my thoughts, have fun with my guests, and start to hone my craft with interviewing too."

Unapologetically Angel officially launches Thursday September 5th as a part of Shaq's “The Big Podcast Network" at Playmaker HQ. The podcast will be available on Youtube and podcast platforms everywhere.
