Adult film actress Gigi Dior has been hit with a lawsuit from Christian Dior Couture.
Per Page Six, the luxury French fashion house is not too happy with the porn actress because she trademarked her name last year, which theyâre trying to get overturned. âThis is ridiculous, my name has nothing to do with couture andâthe funny part is âwhat I do usually involves wearing no clothes at all,â Gigi said in response to the lawsuit, which claims she is damaging the brand with her name.
The 40-year-old adult star had her request to trademark her stage name approved last year. She uses the name across social media, her OnlyFans account, her personal website, and webcam work. âAll goods and services ⊠are opposed, namely: Entertainment services ⊠personal appearances by a porn star ⊠providing a web site featuring non-downloadable adult-themed photographs and videos,â reads the suit. The brand opposes her trademark, and stated that her name could cause âconfusionâ and âdilution.â
âI trademarked my stage name for entertainment and modeling purposes, I had to show proof of what I was using the name for, so I used appearances at exotica, and a website for confirmation ⊠My request was granted,â said Gigi. âA couple of weeks ago, on Oct. 18, I received notice from Christian Dior Couture that they were appealing my trademark approval and they claim that the name Dior is being diluted and that I am diluting their products.âÂ
Gigi will need to respond to Christian Dior Coutureâs appeal by Nov. 17, and if she doesnât her trademark could be overturned. âIf I lose my name, I have built a brand around this name, it has become me and my reputation, so itâs really devastating to think I might have to start from scratch and rebrand everything," she added. "Iâd have to start again, itâs going to be a huge undertaking if I lose this name. I'm devastated, and it is ridiculous."
