Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have reportedly finalized their divorce.
TMZ has reported that new legal documents reveal that a judge has signed off on their settlement just over a year after Joe filed for divorce in the first place.
The finalized divorce comes now after a bitter child custody dispute that was reportedly resolved last October after four days of mediation. Turner wanted their children to live with her in the UK while Jonas preferred for them to live in the US.
This mediation was one of the provisions of their marriage, as they had to settle all outstanding issues related to their divorce through mediation. Today, it appears that they’re officially over and back on the market.
Though in the eyes of the law they’re single now, both Turner and Jonas have moved on romantically to other people. Turner is dating British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson while Jonas is romantically involved with Laila Abdallah.
Last month, Jonas revealed to Billboard that he won’t be “trying to put stuff on blast” about his relationship in his forthcoming solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love.
"I’m not trying to come for anyone on this album,” he said. “I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for.” He explained that making the album was both “scary” and “freeing,” and that, despite recent bumps in the road, he is “a happy person.”
Jonas then explained to the outlet that over the last few years, he was "going through a lot of life change, finding out who I was as a person and father and friend, and living under the microscope of what the music industry can be." He then added, "And I think, at such a crazy time in my life, I looked to music as an outlet."
