Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind the upcoming multiplayer mech shooter Titanfall, has responded to concerns that the game would be laden with a current, annoying, trend in gaming: “No microtransactions,” says the studio.

Lots of big name games have featured microtransactions with varying results. Usually to allow players to avoid grinding for gear, Forza, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Gran Turismo 6 all implemented the in-game purchases with mixed results. But generally tend to upset hardcore gamers who see microtransactions as casual gamer cop-out.

Respawn also addressed the possibility of a downloadable content (DLC) season pass but as the game is still months away no DLCs have been announced yet. Which can be considered a good thing. In other news the super-select Titanfall Xbox One alpha test that yielded some eye-watering footage, has come to a close and while no open beta has been announced if that does happen “we'll be sure to let everyone know,” says Respawn.

Titanfall is set to drop on March 11, exclusively for Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. For more info and videos of Titanfall check out the links below.
