Aubrey Plaza recalled some alarming side effects she experienced after suffering a stroke at the age of 20.

During her appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show Wednesday, Plaza described the moment as "wild," revealing the stroke occurred mid-sentence while visiting friends for lunch at their apartment.

“It was wild. The craziest thing about it ― and kind the coolest thing about it ― it happened mid-sentence," Plaza said, as transcribed by Delaware Online. "I took the train to Astoria to have lunch with my friends and I walked into their apartment ― I hadn't even taken my jacket off ― and it just happened."

The White Lotus actress went on to detail what happened shortly thereafter.

"That's when I was paralyzed, but only really for a minute or something," she remembered. "I lost my motor skills really briefly. The freakiest thing was I forgot how to talk."

Plaza previously discussed her stroke in a 2017 interview with NPR’s Fresh Air.

"I think [my friends] thought I was making a joke … I was always doing something stupid,” she said. "But then after a couple of minutes, they kept saying, 'Do you want us to call an ambulance?,' and I was aware enough to shake my head yes. I kept just shaking my head yes because I knew something was really, really wrong. But I didn't know what it was."

Plaza said paramedics initially suspected she was suffering from dehydration or something related to drugs because they could believe someone as young as her could have had a stroke. A diagnosis was reached when she was asked to put her "right hand on her left knee" and the actress could not tell the difference between the two.

After a brief stay at the hospital’s stroke unit, Plaza was transferred to a hospital in Delaware, so she could be close to her family.
