One year after Lil Tay's social media was hacked during a death hoax, the 17-year-old's pages claim to have "devastating news" about her.

On Wednesday (September 11), the Instagram and X accounts of Tay, born Claire Hope, made several updates that alluded to the "Sucker 4 Green" artist being in danger.

"[W]e have devastating news regarding tay," read one message that was shared to her X account this morning.

Another post that was shared in the afternoon read, "please pray for tay. we will be updating you as more information becomes available."

While no other update has been given, it was last August when a statement was issued on Lil Tay's Instagram page, claiming that she and her older half-brother, Jason Tian, had died. It would later be clarified via TMZ that Tay's Instagram account was "compromised by a third party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors" about her and Jason.

"I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say," read the statement, credited to Tay.

After the hacking, Tay was able to regain access to her Instagram, but blamed her father, Christopher Hope, and alleged former manager, Harry Tsang, for the incident. But the latter pointed the finger at Tsang, who denied involvement in the hacking.

"He went to every publication possible to allege I hacked Tay’s page to fake her death whilst also peddling the fraudulent Lil Tay crypto coin," Tsang accused Tsang in a statement through Lil Tay's PR.

In a Rolling Stone interview from last November, Tay would side with her brother, saying, "There’s always going to be conspiracy theories. If you want to make conspiracy theories, I can’t stop you."
