Kim Kardashian Sends Support to Parents of Children With ‘Learning Differences’ Following North West’s Dyslexia Diagnosis
Kim's oldest daughter North West revealed she lives with dyslexia during a TikTok live stream last October.
Kim Kardashian wants other parents to know they’re not alone in navigating their child’s learning difficulties.
The 43-year-old SKIMS founder shared a video to her Instagram Stories on Friday of her friend Lauren Sánchez’ recent appearance on The View, where she was promoting her first children’s book, The Fly Who Flew to Space and living with dyslexia as a child. Her youngest son, Evan, was also diagnosed with the learning difference.
In the emotional clip, Sánchez recalled growing up with the condition that left her unable to spell words correctly before receiving encouragement from a professor at her community college who assured her she wasn’t “dumb.” That turning point led Sánchez to eventually become a journalist.
"I'm reposting this not bc she's my friend and I love her," Kardashian wrote in a now-expired IG Story, per People. "but because every mom who has struggled with their kids with dyslexia or any learning difference needs to hear that it will be okay."
Kim’s eldest daughter, 11-year-old North West, revealed in a TikTok Live last October that she was diagnosed with the condition much to her mother’s detriment.
“Guys, I have dyslexia. Do you even know what that is?” asked North at the time.
“Northie, you sure are spilling the tea on here,” Kim said. “I love you but I purposely don’t talk about stuff that you’re going through.”
