Daredevil, also known as Matt Murdock, has been a beloved Marvel Comics superhero since Daredevil #1 released in April 1964. Created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett, Daredevil is a true comic fan’s hero. He's never been the star of a successful Marvel movie (no respectable Marvel fan would ever admit to enjoying the 2003 version starring Ben Affleck), and with significantly less mainstream attention than most Marvel superheroes, Daredevil is one of the few comic book characters that’s actually most known for his comics.
This will all change thanks to Netflix’s new series Marvel’s Daredevil, which takes place in the Marvel Universe of the film franchise. Old school fans of the comic have been anxiously waiting for a portrayal of their favorite hero that isn’t awful, and it looks like this will be it.
For the premiere of Marvel’s Daredevil today, we took a look back at some old issues of the classic comic. While Daredevil may have been blind, the artists who've brought him to life on the page use color, line, and artistry to give him a striking depth. In the 50 years since the series' creation, there have been countless memorable covers. We’ve narrowed the selection down to the 25 Best Daredevil Comic Book Covers. Many of these covers are some of the most original and creative covers in Marvel history, and some are simply beautiful works of art.
