There’s no doubt that Little Simz has been on a roll this year, and thankfully she shows no signs of stopping any time soon. Simz recently reunited with Jeremy Cole, the director of her “Dead Body” video, to create yet another mesmerizing video for her latest, “Gratitude.”
Even with the serious subject matter embedded within the lyrics, the bright views of Cape Town, South Africa bring another dimension to the track. “Tone wise, it’s a lot lighter than “Dead Body,” Simz told Red Bull. “[There are] a lot of beautiful colors, Cape Town looks very European. It has such a warm feel. “Dead Body” is a bit cold, this is the complete opposite.”
