Back in 2018, streamer MularJuice made the leap from vlogging and content creation to the studio booth, steadily pushing out a series of singles that switched between Auto-Tuned trap and bassy drill cuts. He maintained a consistent release schedule in the years that followed, but last year was a comparatively quiet one with just two singles—“Loyalty” and “No Limits”.

As it turns out, that was because Mular was gearing up for the release of his debut EP, No Reason. According to a lengthy statement he put out alongside the EP’s release, this could easily have been a much lengthier project, but he decided to exercise some restraint and keep it trim at six tracks.

That probably means there’s plenty more to come and that there’s a busy year ahead, so this a bit of a primer. And it’s not just a bite-size taste test—it also gives a snapshot of what Mular’s about as an artist. The first four tracks stick to his more melodic output, but the final two, “No Reason Freestyle” and “One Sec”, strip all of that away and give us more of that tougher drill side.
