Swae Lee's Ex Accuses Him of Cheating: 'Every Guy in the Industry Says This to Their Girl'
Marliesia Ortiz spoke with TMZ, and footage of an alleged FaceTime conversation between her and the Rae Sremmurd rapper has also been released.
Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd has been accused of engaging in activities of an infidelity nature by former girlfriend Marliesia Ortiz, who now says she and the recent Benny Blanco collaborator are indeed done for good.
Ortiz, who says she and Lee dated off and on for roughly four years, recently spoke with TMZ about the situation. The resulting piece also includes footage of an alleged FaceTime conversation between the two.
"He's definitely verbally abusive, not in, like, the matter of belittling me as a person, but he definitely tells me . . . like, things I should stand for, what I should be okay with because of my position, how close me and him are. Nobody could take my place, nobody could ruin our relationship, I shouldn't care about certain situations, I should just look over it," she said.
Ortiz added that she believes this type of behavior is common practice in the music industry, but any perceived benefits don't outweigh the negative aspects of it all. "Every guy in the industry says this to their girl or has other women that they talk to and they are just okay with it," she said. "It's like, I will never act like I'm okay with something just to have someone in my corner."
Speaking further on this all being "not worth it," Ortiz suggested she was moving on for good. "I can just pass that on to whoever wants it, have it," she said.
In footage of the FaceTime call, a voice alleged to be Lee's is heard pleading with Ortiz while citing the marriages of Chance the Rapper and Gucci Mane as exemplary relationships.
"I fucking love you and you're gonna be my fucking wife one day if you can make it through all this dumb shit, bro," Lee allegedly says. Later, Lee is supposedly heard telling Ortiz he thought she was "down" and mentions a "phase" in which Gucci Mane was having sex with a "billion" other women and Chance's "broke as fuck" era.
Swae Lee hasn't publicly commented on these latest developments. As The Shade Room notes, however, he did seemingly agree with a comment from someone saying Ortiz would "be crying in a Nissan after this."
