PnB Rock Murder Trial: Two Men Guilty on All Counts
Rock was fatally shot at a Los Angeles restaurant in 2022.
A verdict has been reached in the PnB Rock murder trial.
Freddie Trone was found was found guilty of felony murder, two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy at a trial in Compton, according to Rolling Stone. Sentencing will occur at a later date.
In Sept. 2022, days after Rock was murdered at a Roscoe’s in South Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that Trone had been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and second-degree robbery. To be clear, Trone is not the alleged shooter; instead, the suspect is his son, who was 17 at the time of the murder.
The teen was also charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and second-degree robbery. As of this writing, he has not been tried. Announced in tandem with Freddie and his son’s charges was a count of accessory after the fact against Shauntel Trone.
Days before the verdict was reached, Trone asserted his innocence in court, claiming he had "nothing to do" with the deadly robbery.
"I wasn’t there," Trone said while on the stand. "I didn’t tell nobody to do nothing. I didn’t hand nobody no gun."
Trone’s co-defendant Tremont Jones was found guilty on one count of conspiracy and two counts of robbery.
