Cardi B Announces She Gave Birth to Third Child: 'The Prettiest Lil Thing'

Cardi B and Offset are parents once more with the arrival of their third child.

"The prettiest lil thing 🌸🌸 9/7/24," she captioned her Instagram post announcing the news that she gave birth to the baby last week. Alongside several photos of her with her new daughter, whom she has not revealed the name of, she also shared photos showing that Offset was present for the birth.

The New York-born rapper announced her pregnancy in early August. "With every ending comes a new beginning," she wrote, referring to the news that she divorced longtime husband and father of her other two children, Offset.

Cardi followed the announcement with a proper maternity shoot that was as New York as it gets.

Cardi shares two other children, Kulture and Wave, with Offset. She reportedly filed for divorce from Offset at the end of July. They got married in 2017, but briefly separated in 2020 before reconciling. Despite the divorce, the couple have continued to co-parent and shared photos of them celebrating Wave's third birthday last month.

She had also come to his defense after fans suggested he wasn't a supportive husband amid her third pregnancy. "Ok this is getting weird cause I can say he helps me a lot with my business and the kids ... Even wit my filing I'm not askin for child support my claim is for him to only pay bills he already pays on the kids and the new one," she told fans.

She's previously expressed a desire to have four children in an interview with Complex's Speedy Morman. "I want more kids," she shared. "I want four kids." She also said that Offset is a "good dad," but suggested he's the fun parent while she's the one who has to tell them "no" sometimes.

Before welcoming her third child, she shared last month that she was almost left "paralyzed" and almost suffered a miscarriage following what she described as a "freak accident."

"I had a fucking freak accident," she told her fans last month. She didn't share more about the incident, but confirmed that she was doing much better after being prescribed some drugs that left her feeling "high as a kite."
