T.I. was mistakenly arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta because another man with the name Clifford Harris was wanted in Baltimore, Maryland.

As reported by TMZ, the 43-year-old Atlanta native was apprehended by authorities at the airport on Sunday, August 5, and taken to Clayton County Jail. An automatic extradition hearing was issued because the arrest warrant for another man named Clifford Harris, which is T.I.'s real name, was issued in another state. That man is wanted for allegedly stalking and acting violently towards a woman.

T.I. was released within two hours of his arrest, his attorney Steve Sadow confirmed. The extradition order has since been dismissed by a judge. The Trap Muzik artist has not addressed the incident.

The last time T.I. was arrested came after his bike collided with a police officer's vehicle in Amsterdam in 2021. As he explained on his Instagram, however, he was only behind bars for 25 minutes. Before that, T.I. was arrested since he was charged with misdemeanors of simple assault, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness when a security guard refused to let him inside his gated community in 2018.
