Family, friends and fans of Rich Homie Quan gathered on Tuesday for a celebration of the late rapper's life.

Quan, who passed away at age 34 on Sept. 5, was honored in a ceremony at the World Changers Church International in South Fulton, Georgia, according to People.

The event, which was open to fans and live streamed, included musical tributes and remembrances from family members, including his father Corey Lamar, mother Tammie Morgan-Chism, and siblings Andre Munford and Cekoya Munford.

“When I first held you, my life changed immediately,” wrote Lamar in a tribute published in the obituary, as seen by People. “I knew then that I had a purpose in life… Thank you for being the most amazing human being and most importantly, I think God for allowing me to be your dad. Until we meet again - rest in peace son.”

His mother Tammie also wrote, “When man said I would never have kids, God blessed me with you, and you’ve been the anchor of my life from the beginning to the very end. Lord knows I’m grateful for the 34 years God allowed me to share you with the world. No more late nights and early morning talks, but the presence of knowing you are my personal angel is well with my soul.”

His estate also shared a never-before-heard track, “Song Cry,” a day before the celebration of life service.

Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, was also described as a “miracle child” with a distinct talent and passion for baseball and music elsewhere in the obituary.

It also was revealed that although he received a scholarship to Fort Valley State University, he chose to pursue a music career instead, with his family supporting him by building recording studios in their homes.

Among those in attendance at the service included Killer Mike and DC Young Fly.

Atlanta City Council Members Michael Julian Bond and Byron Amos also took part in the service to announce the proclamation of Sept. 17 as “Rich Homie Quan Memorial Day” in the city.

The rapper died at his home in Atlanta earlier this month. No cause of death has been announced.

Quan is also survived by his sons Devin, Royal, Khosen, and Loyal, and daughter Alayna.
