Cardi B Addresses Offset Engagement Rumors at the VMAs
Cardi B didn't confirm that she's engaged with Offset, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't speculate.
Over the past few days, speculation that hip-hop power couple Cardi B and Offset were engaged reached a fever pitch. The chatter started on August 22, when the pair went jewelry shopping in Atlanta. Offset then shared a picture of a rather impressive ring on Snapchat, adding fuel to the rumors of an engagement between the two rappers.
Then an article from Real Cool Nation titled "Exclusive: Cardi B Just Got Engaged To Migos Rapper Offset — He Proposed Last Night!" was published. The article was reposted on Cardi B's Facebook page with the comment "Yes Yessss YEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!" and several praising hand emojis written above. The post was later deleted.
To add more speculation, Cardi was asked about Offset at the 2017 VMAs. In the video above, she says, "I’m a woman, I think every woman wants to get married and have children. It ain’t never too early to get married now! If you want to propose to me, you can.”
When asked if we need to put the pressure on Offset to get down on one knee, she adds, “I don’t got to put the pressure you know what I’m saying? I put it down.”
Even without an impending marriage, the couple has had an undeniably stellar year, from Cardi's "Bodak Yellow" gloriously climbing the Billboard Hot 100 to Offset's group Migos dropping their second studio album Culture. The rappers, who have reportedly been dating for around nine months, even got matching Bentleys.
