In recent years, Lauryn Hill has become known for arriving late (or not showing up at all) to her performances. The reputation stretches overseas.

Hill was scheduled to co-headline day two of the Playground Festival in Glasgow, Scotland. The crowd became restless as she was running late. Although she reportedly apologized to the crowd and explained she was celebrating her son Zion's birthday, the festivalgoers still booed her. Hill had to perform a truncated set because of her tardiness.

This prompted fans to take to social media where they condemned Hill for her lack of professionalism.

Hill posted a message to her Facebook account apologizing to her Glasgow fans.

"My sincere apologies Glasgow for the late show and shorter set," the post reads. "I appreciate the energy and support I did receive from the great crowd, and the patience of the promoters. I hope to come back and make it up to the Glasgow audience. It is only with great respect and Love for my art and the audience that I take the stage every performance."

Similar to the Playground Festival, Hill was scheduled to perform at November shows in Paris and Brussels but she arrived hours late to her set. As a result, she was restricted to only performing 30 minutes before officials at the venues were forced to shuts the showdown. Hill also issued an apology for that.
