Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers sent hundreds of corporate members this week to various restaurant locations across the United States to help deal with staffing shortages, The Hill reports

Around half of its corporate staff will be tasked with assisting in recruiting efforts, while also assuming the role of an hourly worker, which includes helping out as a fry cook and cashier. Business Insider has learned that 250 members of its “field team,” which consists of marketing and training staff, and even senior vice presidents, are being sent out to lend a helping hand.

The restaurant is looking to hire 10,000 employees to its workforce of 40,000 in the next 50 days.

“It’s no secret that today’s hiring market is a challenge, and ahead of our massive growth next year, having the support we need is critical,” co-CEO AJ Kumaran said. “We are all in this together.”

The entire restaurant industry has been forced to deal with staff shortages. According to Restaurant Dive, some Chick-fil-A and McDonald’s locations have closed dining areas due to the limited amount of available workers. A Black Box/Snagajob survey indicates 15 percent of hourly workers decided to switch industries in the past year, while 33 percent have expressed a desire to do so.

Of the restaurant workers who switched professions, 30 percent have transitioned to an office gig, and 17 percent went into teaching or education. These employees said they chose to leave to receive higher pay, pursue a more consistent schedule or income, or work towards professional development and promotional opportunities.
