There are a few celebrities who live by the fresh code creed of knowing what works for them and sticking to a personal uniform, but the shoe game is a whole other routine unto itself. Some of today's most popular rappers and actors may not wear the same clothes and hues regularly, but their footwear remains as consistent as Linus' blanket. What goes on everywhere else may radically differ day-to-day, but their favorite kicks are regularly appearing and anchoring their outfits. As always, consistency is key, and these A-listers are sticking to that philosophy in a way we could all emulate. There's a reason "Off That" is so corny—Jay was clearly trying to flex his trendsetting powers on movements he didn't actually believe in. Despite a healthy circulation of whatever Nike basketball sneakers are in at the time, the Brooklyn boy always comes back to the borough's beloved 6-inch Timberlands. In Mr. All-Black-Everything's case, the black nubuck option reigns supreme above the wheat. In addition to strutting around the globe in them with the family, the Timbs were most recently a consistent part of his "On the Run Tour" costume.
Kendrick Lamar: Nike Cortez
The man said it himself: he ain't rocking no more designer shit. In addition to proving his appetite for competition and trolling half the rap game to respond, K.dot laid out his own uniform creed on his legendary "Control" verse. Basic summary: he's reflecting his desire to always keep it real through hometown Compton steez, which is apparently limited to white tees and Nike Cortez kicks. Has he stuck to that unwaveringly? Of course not—when he's even spotted, that is. Dude's been ghost all year—but a varied collection of Cortezes do get more than a fair share in his circulation.
Pharrell: Custom Stan Smiths
While we wait with bated breath to see what Skateboard P has up his sleeves with adidas, he's been having fun teasing the new collaboration by consistently sporting a pair of free-form hand-drawn Stan Smiths, done in true Pharrell DIY-artistic fashion. (He's also bedazzled another pair of Smiths with Swarovski crystals.) Another pair of shoes that P constantly rocked were the blood red BBC Bee Line x Timberland 6-inch boots, and those were just released, so fans of Pharrell's new three-striped companions might feel good about their chances to get their hands on a pair of these.
John Mayer: visvim boots
Mayer is basically a walking visvim campaign, and that doesn't change when it's time to make the cypher complete. Keeping track of which celebutantes dude has banged over his ten year plus career can be dizzying, but if you need a constant to guide you through the tangled webs of lust look no further than his pair of trusty vis boots. He has many, but he's been seen rocking the same pair in his last few relationships including Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. Cold heart, colder steez.
Chief Keef: Nike Air Force 1s
Young Sosa is a man of simple pleasures, and when it comes to style, it only catches his eye if it's a name brand with a long price tag. As for the footwear, though he may have just came up on a pair of soo-woo red Giueseppe kicks that he can't stop 'Gramming, for the most part he's been holding steady and hood with basic white AF-1s. That and his sagging tendencies are the most consistent things about dude's wardrobe, which otherwise is pretty much all over the place.
Lord Scott Disick: Custom velvet slippers
Before Yeezus showed him the light, it seems like all the Lord ever strutted around in while arm-in-arm with Kourtney was a pair of luxe velvet slippers. Now that his Mr. Me Too phase of Jordan 1s and leather pants has subsided he's mixed the royalty-ready slip-ons back into his rotation. And what better for a Lord to wear than comfortable velvet joints with his own name on them?
Lil Wayne: Supra Skytops
Weezy's relationship with Supra is more than just being a spokesperson for the brand. He's been rocking them consistently since the YMCMB big bang, incidentally around the same time they were one of the hottest sneaker brands out. After the rest of the game moved on, though, Wayne remained committed, and his interest in the lifestyle surrounding Supra Skytops grew to bandwagoner heights. Next thing we knew, Wayne was scraping his chin trying to land the perfect ollie. At that point, Supra giving him his own special edition was a given.
Kanye West: visvim FBTs
Even when he's on a more toned down, Cool Dad fresh code, Yeezus is still capable of stunting on the rest of us. Between married parenthood and the dissolution of his relationship with Nike, the last year and a half has seen Ye limit his Jordan 1 strutting. Nowadays you're more likely to spot Mr. West in wheat Timbs or three stripes, word to his new home under adidas. The kickers that get the most re-use from the game's No. 1 uniform dresser, though, are undoubtedly his visvim FBTs, seen with increased frequency recently. The Creator is a true skate rat through and through, and if you're really about that half-pipe life there isn't much else you should be rocking beyond a trusty pair of Vans. Even though Wiz dresses much weirder these days than when he was first coming up, you're still likely to see him in a pair of Chucks, the American classic that he stays loyal to. Remember, there's only one reason why his clique and fanbase are dubbed the Taylor Gang, and Wiz even collaborated with the brand for on a pair of sneakers that included some signature touches. The fact that Khalifa stays rocking the reliable kicks are a testament to their versatility, and he'll even rock the brand on a red carpet.
Jason Sudeikis: Jordans
It's not groundbreaking to say that someone is heavily into Jordans, but the only thing you are more guaranteed to see Jason around town with besides a fresh pair of covetable Js is an A-list dime (though it seems like Olivia Wilde's locked that spot down for good). The location doesn't matter either; whether it's strolling around New York or L.A. with his girl and newborn, appearing on his homies Jimmy Fallon or Seth Meyers' late night show, or even attending a formal event, Sudeikis will always be tip toeing in Js because his menswear-streetwear blur game is solid. That's right, one of the funniest dudes in modern Hollywood is a giant hypebeast for the retro Js. If you want 'em, Jumpman probably already sent them to his crib.
