Rockets Fans Trashing Ayesha Curry's Houston Restaurant on Yelp Before It Even Opens

Houston Rockets fans, still salty after the Golden State Warriors eliminated Houston from the Western Conference Playoffs, are leaving terrible reviews on Yelp for Ayesha Curry's new restaurant.

The Houston Rockets came this close to spoiling the Golden State Warriors' return to the NBA title. Houston built a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference Finals, but Chris Paul suffered a hamstring injury, Golden State went all Golden State, and the rest is history.

Rockets fans are, naturally, still hurting as they think of what could have been. And they're taking out their hurt on Ayesha Curry, the food fanatic whose husband happens to be Warriors star Steph Curry. Ayesha's BBQ restaurant, International Smoke, will open in Houston next month, and it has already received a number of negative reviews on Yelp.

"Go rockets," one fan wrote.

"Ya idk how she expects anyone from Houston to eat here," another wrote. "Not one real Houstonian will ever step foot in here."

"I will never step foot in this restaurant even if my only other option was a pet food store," wrote another Rockets fan, also confusing the phrase "never set foot in here again."

You can read all the reviews here. Yelp noticed the restaurant was receiving attention in the news and issued a statement on the site in response: "This business recently made waves in the news, which often means that people come to this page to post their views on the news. While we don't take a stand one way or the other when it comes to these news events, we do work to remove both positive and negative posts that appear to be motivated more by the news coverage itself than the reviewer’s personal consumer experience with the business."

Tough break for Ayesha for sure, but she had to suspect it was coming. One Rockets fan already crassly taunted her and bumped her "8 month pregnant belly" after Game 5 against Golden State.
