UPDATE 6/12/16: The Cleveland Police Department and its union have issued a statement regarding the incendiary Instagram post from Browns running back Isaiah Crowell that depicted an execution-style throat slicing from a masked killer. They believe that Crowell needs to do more than just deleting the post mere written apology on his social media channels.

According to TMZ, the president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association said he wants Crowell to do more than just his "store-bought apology." He also said the post is "offensive as putting a picture of historical African-American men being hung from a tree in the 60s."

Loomis detailed what Crowell needs to do as a contributor to the Dallas community to make amends for his post: "He needs to go to Dallas, help the families who lost their loved ones last week, write them a check, look them in the eyes and give a heartfelt apology. If Crowell doesn’t, there will be consequences."

The consequences include him pulling the police force as security for Browns home games if Crowell doesn't follow up on the aforementioned suggestions:

"I will pull Cleveland officers, sheriffs, state troopers out of First Energy Stadium this season if he doesn’t make it right," Loomis said. "You’re a grown-ass man, and you claim you were too emotional to know it was wrong? Think we’ll accept your apology? Kiss my ass."

The team has not taken any action against Crowell.

A short while ago, Crowell issued an apology through the following statement:

.@Browns RB Isaiah Crowell posted a picture of a police officer having his throat slit. Who else thinks he should be removed from the team?

In his message addressing the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, and the shooting at the Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas, Carmelo Anthony said, "We need to steer our anger in the right direction...Shooting 11 cops and killing 5 WILL NOT work."

By trying to "resolve" this ongoing problem through violence, the issue will not only continue to persist, but it can get even worse. Now, people are calling for the Browns to kick Crowell off the team.

not acceptable. You should be cut immediately

The Browns can never have a relaxing, controversy-free offseason, huh?
