As the use of 3D printing in the footwear industry continues to rise, some 'heads are wondering what it means for the future sneakers or more specifically, fake sneakers. It's a very real concern, and it's one that's shared by one of the biggest influencers in the entire culture.

A recent episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians documented Kanye West's visit to the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies in Armenia where, among other things, he declared that he "likes robots" — just not all robots.

"This is what I'm afraid of right here, 3D printing. Because the Internet destroyed the music industry and now this is what we're afraid of right now with the textile industry," Kanye said. "There will come a time where people are making the shoes at home."

3D printed 350s? Where do we sign up? In all seriousness, it's probably going to be years before Kanye's prediction is fully realized, but it'd be foolish to act like he isn't onto something here. Check out the clip over at Gawker.
