This isn't just a shoe, it's a piece of history. The Nike Air Max 1 was the first shoe to feature Visible Air, and to further enhance the exposed-tech nature of the shoe, designer Tinker Hatfield took inspiration from the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, a building that was essentially built inside out. Some might consider this 1987 classic one of the best shoes of the '80s, or perhaps even the best running shoe of all time. It's certainly been retroed enough times. But there's only one original.
