An Expert Lesson In Trolling By Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen is known for being one of the funniest, most outspoken celebrities. She reigns supreme on social media, where she’s constantly trolling her husband, her celebrity friends, the president, and the rest of us. Here, we give you an expert lesson in trolling, courtesy of Chrissy Teigen's Twitter.

Chrissy Teigen

Over the last few years, Chrissy Teigen has become a household name, and it’s easy to see why. Although she’s a model, and married to a Grammy Award-winning musician, she’s also refreshingly real. She’s opened up about her experiences with IVF and postpartum depression, as well as her struggles with drinking and how difficult it is to maintain a positive body image in today’s world. She opens up primarily on social media—both her Instagram and Twitter provide a real peek into her life as a celebrity, mother, wife, and human being.

Beyond sharing her personal anecdotes and struggles, she also uses these platforms to effect positive change: recently, she and her husband John Legend made a sizeable donation to the Time’s Up Defense Fund; Teigen also offered to pay for a $100,000 fine so that McKayla Maroney could speak at the sentencing of child molestor Larry Nassar. On a smaller scale, she’s also a generous tipper.

But just like anyone else, Teigen also loves to use social media for trolling. Not the nasty kind perpetrated by white supremacists and meninists; Teigen’s brand of trolling is much more specialized. She knows how to hit her friends and loved ones with a well-timed jab; honestly, it’s kind of an art form.

Teigen’s particular brand of sarcastic, self-deprecating sense of humor is her trademark. The majority of her targets are just as famous as she is, which makes the trolling that much funnier. Some of her common targets include her multi-talented husband John Legend, well-known celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, and the president of the United States, Donald Trump, who actually has Teigen blocked on Twitter. It’s safe to say that with her trolling, she’s out here doing the Lord’s work, and we all get to sit back and watch.

Teigen posts so many funny things that it’s genuinely hard to keep track of her trolling. We honestly can’t pick which we love more—Chrissy Teigen’s Twitter or her Instagram—but here’s a collection of her best social media trolls.

Back in February, Chrissy attended a pre-Grammy party and looked wonderful thanks to her “dear friends who I pay but they’re still very good friends.” The jab was funny enough, and then Jen Atkin commented that she would “do it for free!” Teigen answered with a swift, “but u didn’t.” She’s not wrong!

Teigen was on the anti-Trump train way before a lot of people realized just how pathetic and dangerous he is. This tweet from May 2011 is weirdly prescient of two of our current president’s most notable qualities.

One of Chrissy’s comedic strengths is her top-notch pop culture references. Here, her everlasting Donald Trump grudge intersects with that knowledge for a near perfect tweet.

No one is safe from Teigen’s trolling, not even her husband. That’s real love.

Jen Atkin is much more than Teigen’s’s hairstylist; she also moonlights as John Legend’s wife, at least according to his actual wife.

Again, one of Teigen’s favorite people to diss on social media is Grammy and Oscar-winning husband. Honestly, when someone is that talented, they deserve some expert trolling—especially from their supermodel wife.

The shade of it all. #NotThisYear

This tweet is doubles both as a troll and a sweet compliment. Thanks, Chrissy?

Leave it to Teigen to turn a tragic loss into an opportunity to troll. She’s truly mastered her craft.

John Legend is a frequent guest judge on NBC’s The Voice, and though he’s no Simon Cowell, Teigen apparently has some feelings about his demeanor on the show. Got ‘em!

Being so open and active on social media does come with a cost; Teigen apparently receives a lot of dick pics on Twitter, but at least she can (sort of) put the offenders on blast.

The best thing a troll can do is make you believe them, if only for a second.

All we can say is: Who among us?

This is a prime example of Chrissy’s sarcasm. For the record, ranking women, especially based on their appearance, is exactly the opposite of what you should be doing.

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Teigen admitted that she has to fake cry during public performances of the song because it just doesn’t make her as emotional as it did five years ago. We appreciate the honesty.

Trolls work hard, but Teigen works harder.

After Chrissy shared a video on Snapchat of John helping take off her jewelry after a long night at the Grammys, thousands of fans were quick to call them “relationship goals.” Teigen fired back and taught everyone to have some damn standards.

Queen of mental health advocacy.

She has a point.

The best troll is a self-troll.

Scientology is objectively dodgy, and curiously caters to celebrities in ways other so-called religions don’t. Even though most of us would never join, it’s the thought that counts, right?

She’s married to him and has birthed one (soon to be two) of his children, but she clearly still thinks the sun shines out of his ass. Now that’s #relationshipgoals.

Pero like, can we get a video of this?

Teigen is clearly a hardcore gamer—Drake could never.

Ah, the irony. *chef’s kiss*
