The ongoing YSL RICO trial nearly became a matchmaking service thanks to a witness shooting his shot at an investigator he wanted to get to know a little better.

When Quindarrius “Lil D” Zachary took the stand today (Sept. 20), he tried to lock in some late night action at his hotel with an investigator who was leaving the room. As the judge told him about being supervised by someone at his hotel, he responded with “can it be her walking out of the door?”

Judge Paige Reese Whitaker, taken aback by his question, laughed at the situation before responding, “I don’t know if it’s going to be that particular investigator or not."

Some people online in the X thread beneath the post offered some light criticism of the judge for her reaction. In July, the judge presiding over the federal racketeering trial, Judge Ural Glanville, and others were officially taken off the high-profile case. The judge was removed after he was hit with complaints against him by multiple defendants for allegedly holding “improper meetings” with a witness for the prosecution.

The YSL trial has had its fair share of bizarre moments since it began. Most of them have come from YSL Woody, who seemingly always finds a way to go viral for his responses to courtroom questions — and it genuinely feels like he’s not trying to be funny.

Earlier this month, he was asked on the stand if Young Thug had an issue with Rich Homie Quan “bringing members of his gang to his apartment.” Right there, in front of everyone, YSL Woody decided to just ask Thug directly — prompting the rapper to practically fall over laughing because of how caught off guard he was.

To cover all of YSL Woody’s wild courtroom hi-jinx would take more than the space of this article. But here’s another unexpected moment that happened in August.

When Woody got frustrated with some of the questions that he was receiving from the prosecution, he decided to go on a rant in which he claimed that he lied to the authorities. “Like I told you before y'all called me to trial, I have lied, I made things up," he said. "I told y'all this before y'all brought me in this courtroom and I'm telling you now. You asked me about 2015, I had got my life together. Y'all are trying to put this on my conscience, y'all are trying to put people's lives in my hands."

In an even bolder move, Woody decided to compare one of the detectives involved in the case to nature’s most notorious nut-muncher. “Detective Thorpe, his brain was the size of a squirrel brain,” suggests YSL Woody. “You could tell him anything and he'd go for it.”
