Boy Meets World star Trina McGee revealed that she suffered a miscarriage earlier this year.

The 55-year-old actress, who is best known for playing Angela Moore in the 90’s sitcom, previously announced in June that she was expecting her fourth child.

However, she gave an unfortunate update during an appearance on Monday’s episode of the Tamron Hall Show where she confirmed that she had lost her unborn child.

Hall explained to the studio audience that she and McGee had spoken on the phone prior to the episode’s taping and discussed the pregnancy loss.

“Yeah, I did lose the baby. [It] wasn't expected—it was closer to the end of the first trimester,” McGee explained at the 3:23 mark in the video linked above. “We really don't have any real reasons why. I was still so grateful to have the experience of being able to conceive at this age and at this time.”

McGee shared that she experienced “a lot of depression” following the loss while noting the difficulty of facing the reality that she would not get her “family to be complete.”

Further into the interview, McGee revealed that she was intentionally trying to conceive with husband Marcello Thedford, but “not in a majorly aggressive way” such as with IVF treatments.

Instead, she shared that the couple had opted to try a more natural and holistic approach that involved going to Belize to visit Thedford’s aunt who is a holistic healer to help them reduce their stress and change their diets for fertility purposes.

The actress is a mom to three adult children, Ramia, 33, Langston, 30, and Ezra, 26, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Cortland Davis, according to ABC News.

Despite being at a higher risk for pregnancy due to factors such as age and perimenopause, McGee said she wanted to experience pregnancy with her current husband.

“When you raise kids young you miss some things, and that's okay but I wanted that chance to really pour into a child all the knowledge that I have and get the results of this amazing human being that I have in my mind, given what me and my husband have to offer,” she told Hall.

“To be honest, I might have been a little immature in that I was just so excited. I did realize ‘Okay, this isn't a bad thing’ because along with the criticism, I realized there were so many women who really even at 55 and older still want to get pregnant, or don't want to be boxed into this geriatric pregnancy thing,” McGee continued.

“I don't know if I'm here to give advice for everybody because everybody's body is different and you really should listen to your doctors and what they're telling you about where you're at, but I do know that I took special care. I wanted it and there's some things I did and I really believe relieving the stress and the city factor was a real major deal about it,” she added.

Back in June, the Boy Meets World actress announced she was expecting her fourth child.

"At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant," McGee wrote on Instagram at the time. "Please bless us with your prayers for a safe delivery. Thank you."
