How Japanese Artist Dragon76 is Preparing for ComplexCon Chicago

Dragon76 talks his artistic style, and the live mural he will be creating based on Amazon Prime Video's 'The Boys' at ComplexConChicago.

A lot of work goes into those Instagram-able streetside murals that you see in big cities like New York, L.A., and Chicago. As one of the many artists behind them, Dragon76 has displayed his work all across the globe—from his hometown of Shiga, Japan to NYC, where he currently resides. Over the years, Dragon76’s continued to make a name for himself by making the world his canvas.

Complex recently caught up with the world-renowned painter in his New York studio where he talked about his inspirations, artistic style, and Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming series, The Boys. Dragon76 was tapped by the brand to bring his skills to life at ComplexCon Chicago by painting a live mural based on the show’s central theme of the coexistence of opposing forces.  “It’s not about good or bad,” he explains. “It’s about how good and bad can come together.”

Watch the video above to see Dragon76 at work in his studio as he prepares for ComplexCon Chicago. And if you’re in town, be sure to stop by The Boys activation this weekend to see his one-of-a-kind mural come to life.

Watch the new Amazon Original series, The Boys, premiering July 26th only on Prime Video.
