Often, people think that social media is a shield that allows them to say what they want. Yet, radio host and television personality Nessa debunked this theory when she brought her issues with Janelle Evans directly to her.
When MTV tapped Nessa to host their Teen Mom 2 reunion, the popular personality saw this as the perfect opportunity to address Evans about the comments she made regarding Nessa's boyfriend Colin Kaepernick. After Nike revealed that Kaepernick was the face of their "Just Do It" campaign, Evans took to Facebook where she condemned Kaepernick's anthem protest and vowed to never buy a pair of Nikes again.
She then used the ad to show her support for Trump by joking: "Donald J. Trump unemployment rate so low, even Colin Kaepernick found a job! MERICA!"
As expected, this didn't sit well with Nessa. So when Evans graced the reunion stage, Nessa confronted her about her statements.
"You posted hateful comments on social about my family. My man, Colin Kaepernick," Nessa stated. When Evans denied making the posts, Nessa pulled out the receipts to refresh her memory.
"Please understand something — my man uses his platform to peacefully protest systemic oppression in this country. Specifically, police brutality against black people. Men, women and children are dying — wrongfully dying," Nessa continued. "And people who are doing this are not being held accountable. That is the issue. It has nothing to do with military men, military women, OK? Because they fought for our constitution to peacefully protest. All of us. I would have appreciated if you had contacted me. I would’ve been more than happy, Jenelle, to have a healthy conversation."
Though she was presented with the opportunity to speak her piece, Evans elected to flee the stage. In between some well-timed tears, Evans claims to know nothing about Colin Kaepernick while blaming Nessa for shifting the focus away from her storyline on the show.
Evans has been causing a lot of controversy as of late. In addition to her discussion with Nessa, Evans was recently fired from MTV after her husband shot and killed their family dog.
