MGM just dropped the first official trailer forCreed 2 starring Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, and Tessa Thompson. The sequel is being directed by Steven Caple Jr., who took over the Rocky spinoff franchise from Ryan Coogler.

In the beginning of the trailer we see Adonis Creed (Jordan) suffer a major blow during a fight, before it cuts to a scene of the boxer's girlfriend Bianca (Thompson) standing over his hospital bed. The rest shows Creed training under the guidance of his mentor and cornerman Rocky Balboa (Stallone). There's a really cool scene of Creed boxing underwater, and we get a nice Drago tease at the end.

Drago, reprised here by Dolph Lundgren, murdered Creed's father Apollo in Rocky IV, and the trailer cuts to several clips of his grave. Will Creed get to avenge his father in a fight against Dragon's son, Viktor, played by Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu? Will Balboa get to take a jab at his old nemesis? We'll have to wait and see.

"Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life," the synopsis of the film reads. "Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what's worth fighting for, and discover that nothing's more important than family."

This new film was written by Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker, the scribe who worked as showrunner on Marvel's Luke Cage. Stallone's return as director, having helmed four of the six Rocky films, was announced in October 2017 but quickly reversed a couple months later when Caple Jr. came onboard.

Creed 2 is slated to arrive in theaters on Nov. 21. Watch the trailer above.
