LeBron James and Channing Tatum Team Up to Produce Action Comedy 'Public Enemy'

LeBron James and Channing Tatum are producing a movie 'Public Enemy'

LeBron James is making movie moves with Channing Tatum.

Deadline reports that SpringHill Entertainment, which James co-owns with media personality Maverick Carter, is producing an action-comedy, Public Enemy. Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, and Peter Kiernan’s production company, Free Association, are also on board to produce the film while Lucas Carter will pen the script. Carter is a newcomer to Hollywood with little films under his belt. So far, Public Enemy is described as a "subversive action comedy that looks at the speed of media in our current landscape." New Line Cinema, the company behind several team-up films like Dumb and Dumber, Central Intelligence, Rush Hour series, and Wedding Crashers, acquired the project for distribution.

This is the second project SpringHill announced this year. Back in February, the company revealed they're working on a remake of 1990's House Party with Atlanta writers Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori. They also have a few more ideas in the works including NBC's The Wall, a documentary on Muhammad Ali by Antoine Fuqua, and two Netflix series including an Octavia Spencer–led drama series about Madam C.J. Walker and a Top Boy remake with Drake and Adel 'Future' Nur.

It's unclear if James (or Tatum) will be acting in the movie, but the acting debut would certainly warm James up for the possibility of a Space Jam reboot. In the meantime, James has more than enough on his plate as he leads the Cleveland Cavaliers through the Eastern Conference Finals in hopes to enter the NBA Playoffs once again.
