Black Panther is continuing its box office reign. The Marvel blockbuster is set to maintain it’s number one spot over Alicia Vikander’s Tomb Raider, according to The Hollywood Reporter. But that’s not at all, Black Panther is set to make history by becoming the the first film since Avatar to stay on top of the charts for five consecutive weeks. No matter who comes out on top, it’s certainly refreshing to see a film with a predominantly black cast and another lead by a strong female character vying for the throne. So far, Black Panther has earned $578 million domestically and $1.12 billion worldwide, according to Forbes

Tomb Raider is expected to bring around $22-24 million over the weekend, while Black Panther is projected to earn $28 million across 3,834 theaters. If the latter performs as expected, it will put the superhero flick past the $600 million mark domestically. After Tomb Raider, Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time is expected to come in third place this weekend.

All in all, it’s looking like a good weekend to be in the movie business. Fox’s Love, Simon, which has been getting some pretty good reviews, is expected to earn an additional $12 or so million over the weekend. The earnings will eventually more than make up for the film’s $17 million production cost. Love, Simon is a dramedy about a closeted gay teen. The film is up against Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions’ I Can Only Imagine for the No. 4 spot this weekend.
