We should really celebrate Nicolas Cage more often. The Oscar-winning actor, whose most recent film is the unfortunately not-so-great Inconceivable, brought joy to many over the weekend, thanks to the warm expression on his face in the photo currently staring you down at the top of this page.
Cage was photographed striking the unique pose while in Astana, Kazakhstan for the Eurasia International Film Festival. Cage, according to The Hollywood Reporter, was a VIP guest at the 13th edition of the festival. "I would be pleased to participate in some film project in the territory of Kazakhstan," Cage told local reporters. "I enjoyed the architecture of your capital. What I saw reminded me of an old black-and-white film that depicted the future."

Despite what Cage disrespecters may believe, he told Complex back in 2015 that he doesn't just take roles for the check these days. "If I find a movie that I think is too similar to another movie that I made, especially in recent times, I'll pass on that," he explained. "Or if I don't feel there's anything I can do with the character to at least make it honest in its portrayal or have some integrity in its portrayal, I'll pass on that."
Last year, it was reported that Cage would be starring as a murderous parent in director Brian Taylor's Mom and Dad. A release is expected at some point this year, and honestly the movie sounds kinda great.
