The Oscars Are Basically Recreating the End of 'The Dark Knight'

Hopefully this Oscars livestream has its own self destruct code as well.

In 2008's The Dark Knight, Bruce Wayne introduced Wayne Enterprises CEO Lucius Fox to an insane form of surveillance that involved using sonar technology to essentially tap into all of the cell phones in Gotham City, ultimately using it to figure out where the hell The Joker was. While Lucius wasn't down with the plan ("Spying on 30 million people isn't part of my job description."), he did it, and ended up destroying the machine at the end of the film.

With what The Academy has planned for this Sunday's Oscar ceremony, we hope someone is down there with a code word to destroy this technology at the end of the show.

Variety is reporting that The Academy has linked up with Facebook to livestream this year's red carpet, acceptance speeches, and backstage moments from a host of cameras, but will also be giving certain celebrities the power to livestream their own devices; word is Kevin Hart, Whoopi Goldberg, and Wolfgang Puck all said to be on board. Variety also says that Sylvester Stallone will be timing the launch of his Facebook with the Oscars that will also include a live feed of the red carpet.

This won't be just a Facebook (Live) party, though; expect moments from these feeds to show up all over their Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube accounts as well.

The main question has to be, if there is a Lucius Fox of the 2016 Oscars, who's going to figure out what the self destruct code word would be?
