Medical Examiner Releases Tamir Rice's Autopsy Report

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office released the autopsy report for Tamir Rice today. The 12-year-old died after being shot by a Cleveland police officer on Nov. 22 who mistook his toy gun for a real one.

According to WKYC, the report revealed that Rice was 5'7" and 195 pounds at the time of his death. Furthermore, it noted that the bullet entered the left side of Rice's abdomen. Most important, his death has been ruled a homicide.

Rice's family has filed a wrongful death suit against the city and the two officers involved last week. A day prior, the Department of Justice released a 58-page report which found that the Cleveland Police Department was poorly trained and resorted to excessive force to often.
