Well it looks like another blow has come for Marvel fans this Memorial Day weekend. According to Latino Review, Drew Goddard has left Marvel’s upcoming DaredevilNetflix series just 24 hours after it was reported that Edgar Wright exited Ant-Man. Goddard was tapped last year to write and direct the series’ first episode, while producing the rest. The site reached out to his representatives, but those calls went unanswered due to the holiday weekend.

Goddard has also been hired by Sony to direct the upcoming Sinister Six spin-off of The Amazing Spider-Man, so it’s possible that there simply wasn’t enough time for him to schedule both. Either way, if this report turns out to be true, this is yet another devastating blow for Marvel, as the upcoming Netflix series was supposed to be a huge deal for the studio in 2015.

We’ll update you as soon as anything is confirmed or denied.
