Nicki Minaj is reportedly shopping around for a new management team.
A source informed Variety that Minaj is no longer represented by Irving Azoff at Full Stop Management, and that she split from them earlier this year.
The outlet writes that the hitmaker is in talks with SALXCO, the company headed by Wassim “Sal” Slaiby that represents Doja Cat, the Weeknd, French Montana, Bebe Rexha, Ty Dolla Sign, and M.I.A, among others. SALXCO recently expanded its client base and announced several new additions including Diddy and Swedish House Mafia.
At Full Stop, Minaj was part of a roster that includes Harry Styles, Lizzo, Roddy Ricch, John Mayer, Gwen Stefani, Haim, and the Eagles.
Nicki made headlines yesterday after she tweeted that she has not been vaccinated against COVID-19, and that she contracted the virus when she was getting ready for the MTV Video Music Awards. “I was prepping for vmas then i shot a video & guess who got COVID,” Nicki tweeted. “Do u know what it is not to be able to kiss or hold your tiny baby for over a week? A baby who is only used to his mama? ‘get vaccinated’ Drake had just told me he got covid [with] THE VACCINE tho so chile.”
She added that she chose to opt out of attending the Met Gala this year in order to do her own research on the COVID vaccine. “They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met,” she wrote. “It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one.”
She then tweeted that a friend of her cousin’s in Trinidad got the vaccine and said he “became impotent.”
“His testicles became swollen,” she wrote. “His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”
Fans were quick to critique the rapper online and replied that the friend likely contracted an STD. Nicki added that she’ll likely get vaccinated in the future. “A lot of countries won’t let ppl work w/o the vaccine,” she wrote in response to a fan. “I’d def recommend they get the vaccine. They have to feed their families. I’m sure I’ll b vaccinated as well cuz I have to go on tour, etc.”
Still, the backlash to Nicki’s comments was swift, leading to beef with Joy Reid, Piers Morgan, and a stray for Meghan McCain.
