Nick Cannon and Fans Raise $25K for Rich Homie Quan's Family
Quan was pronounced dead at Grady Hospital on Sept. 5.
Nick Cannon paid tribute to the late Rich Homie Quan by giving his family $25,000 that was made at a Wild 'n Out live show in Atlanta.
According to a report by Atlanta's WSB-TV, Cannon took time out of the live show on Thursday to perform a medley of the late rapper's hits. He also invited Quan's family on stage, such as his father, Corey Lamar, and brother, Rich Homie Dre, to hand them $25,000.

Cannon stated that $10,000 of that money came solely from Wild 'n Out fans, while he added an additional $10,000, and State Farm Arena, where the show was being held, donated the last $5,000. The moment was fitting as the Wild 'n Out live show occurred two days after Quan's funeral, which was held at World Changers Church International in South Fulton, Georgia.
The city of Atlanta has also been honoring the late rapper by giving him his own day. Lawmakers in Atlanta have officially declared September 17 as Rich Homie Quan Memorial Day. The event that honored the moment featured the likes of Killer Mike, DC Young Fly, former NBA star Stephen Jackson speaking highly of the Atlanta native who was pronounced dead earlier this month after being found unresponsive in his home.
Local police reported that Quan's brother, Andre Munford, found him sleeping on the floor of his kitchen with food still in his mouth. Munford moved Quan to the couch, where he stayed for a few hours before the rapper's girlfriend, Amber Williams, saw him lying down where she assumed he was sleeping.
After a few more hours, Williams checked on Quan only to feel his body was cold and didn't appear to be breathing. She called 911, and he was transported to Grady Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
